Clean Eating and More
We have talked about the importance of eating organic and the Environmental Working Group is a wonderful resource for clean foods, skin care and more.

Here is their list of the Dirty Dozen and their list of the Clean Fifteen can be found http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/summary/.

Dirty Dozen – these foods have higher concentration of pesticides, herbicides, and toxins because of the way they are grown and harvested.

  • Celery
  • Peaches
  • Strawberries
  • Apples
  • Blueberries
  • Nectarines
  • Bell Peppers
  • Spinach
  • Cherries
  • Kale, collard, and other greens
  • Potatoes
  • Grapes (imported)

When washing produce, organic or not, I like to fill my sink and soak my produce, this was will remove pesticides, germs and bacteria that can disrupt the hormones, lead to weight again and digestive distress.

Please follow these simple steps.

Clean your sink with water, vinegar, lemon and baking soda, then make a mixture of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar. Then add your vegetables and mix them around and let sit for 5 minutes. Then remove and let them sit on a clean, dry towel and put into BPA free containers and your veggies will stay fresh and clean.

Going toxic free is extremely important for the health of our bodies and our mind. Even though our bodies cleanse and detox naturally, it can become too hard on our liver which processes the toxins out of our bodies. When our liver becomes overworked, we get toxic build-up which leads to illness and disease.

Here I share with you just a few suggestions for leaving the toxins behind and if you join my Detox in April, the complete list is available.

Here is to going toxic-free!
