That’s what I did when I found this ingredient listed on the can of coconut milk:
Who knew?
Identify foods that don’t agree with you.
Some of the most common foods people find irritate them include gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, tree nuts, shellfish, and peanuts. Again, read labels very carefully as sometimes the ingredients are hidden and the labeling of common allergens is not always helpful. Some of us react to certain foods in ways we might not identify immediately with sensitivities to food like:
- Feelings of irritability
- Skin rash
- Racing heart beat
- Headaches
- Bloating
- Sudden drop in energy
- Muscle and joint aches and pains.
And sometimes we have these symptoms all the time and don’t attribute them to food. A reaction can show up in minutes, or as long as 72 hours after consuming the offending food.
This is one of the reasons I detox each season. In general, I eat very clean. But, each season I purposefully eliminate the common allergens listed above, caffeine, sugar, and additives from my diet. I also look for emotional toxins I’m ready to give up and use the tools in my detox program like deep breathing to help me release what doesn’t serve me anymore.
After about 7 days, I add back one food at a time and make note of any symptom that might show up.
This is all explained in my online Winter Detox Program which starts February 8th.
If you’ve participated with me before, your Detox fee is only $47.00 and if not, your early-bird fee is $87.00 until January 30th.
The process is actually a lot of fun with a great Facebook community and daily emails from me.
